the suggestion that one disable pictures from automatically opening seems in excess if the option to open them is one click away.... emails that one tends to "open" could be the pixel carrier - why not just accept that privacy is no more and if you open an email someone knows you did? best to have good virus protection in case you open one that is a little bit more menacing!
